The Value of a Job: Part 2
So, from the previous article, we learned that labor markets are generally ( not always) controlled by the buyer of the labor, i.e., the employer, who determines 1) the job content, i.e., the list of tasks and outcomes that the job exists to accomplish, 2) the job context, where the job resides within the organization structure of the employer, and 3) the range of dollar-value the employer is willing to spend.
Here at ExecutivePaybook, we measure exactly those things and assign job-content and job context points ( i.e., JCC Points) to each of our member's jobs. We then determine the prevailing levels of pay that other employers currently pay to jobs with similar JCC scores. Thus, we take into account the unique features of your job and then compare your pay to that of other companies for similar work.
Note well: We don't care about your title, your gender category, your race, your age, or any other dimension of your personhood that is not appropriately related to your personal market value. We only care about the actual content and context of your job, and the work and educational experience you bring to the job.
Our process is entirely conducted online. After you register as a member of executivepaybook.com, we authorize you to select those answers from our proprietary questionnaire that best describe your unique job-related circumstances. After we collect your information we conduct our internal analysis of the information you provided, combine it with other information we maintain, and issue a multi-page report back to you. It's that simple.
And here is the best part: the longer you maintain your membership, the better our data becomes and the more reliable our information is to you. Each month we tweak our algorithms and refresh our database based on new information from new members and from other reliable sources such as the proxy filings of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and others. As time goes by, changes will occur both in the labor markets we examine and in your job and pay. As a member, you can update your executivepaybook.com profile as often as you please, whenever your job changes or your pay package is adjusted. We keep you fully informed of your personal market value throughout the course of your membership.
